Active Zero-Click Windows Kernel Sandbox Escape Vulnerability

FEBRUARY 2026

A severe zero-day elevation of privilege vulnerability in the Windows Kernel has been active in the wild. This flaw enables unprivileged local users or malicious sandboxed web processes to execute arbitrary code with elevated system permissions, bypassing virtual containers and sandbox boundaries entirely.

Users are strongly urged to verify that the latest cumulative security updates are successfully applied to their operating systems immediately to mitigate this sandbox escape threat.

Severe Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader Remote Execution Zero-Day

JANUARY 2025

Security researchers warned that a critical use-after-free vulnerability inside the PDF JavaScript engine of Adobe Acrobat allowed malicious actors to run malicious scripts immediately upon opening a PDF file. This vulnerability bypassed secure sandbox restrictions and permitted remote attackers to install spyware silently.

Immediate Action: Update Adobe Acrobat to the emergency patch version immediately, or transition to a secure web browser-based PDF previewer for untrusted files.

The Critical XZ Utils Backdoor Threat

MARCH 2024

A highly sophisticated, malicious backdoor was discovered embedded in the upstream compression library liblzma (part of XZ Utils). This backdoor was engineered to intercept and decrypt SSH communication, allowing unauthorized remote command execution on affected Linux systems.

While primarily affecting enterprise servers, this incident highlights the immense complexity of modern software supply chains and the necessity of immediate patching for all systems.

Email Spoofing: Beware Tooltips Revealing Actual Senders

AUGUST 2023

In the majority of email systems, if you hover your cursor over the Sender's name in your Inbox, a tooltip appears that will show you the email address of the Sender. If the email address you see is yours, be wary, because that email is almost certainly from a scammer/hacker looking to do you harm. Take that extra moment to do your due diligence!

IPFS Domains Utilized in Phishing Attacks

JULY 2022

The InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), which was created in 2015, is being used by malicious attackers to send phishing emails to people, in an effort to get them to click on links in legitimate sounding emails, in order to compromise the user's computer and/or gain login credentials.

Apple iMessage Zero-Click Exploits (FORCEDENTRY)

SEPTEMBER 13, 2021

Apple and major security researchers urged users of Apple devices to immediately update the operating systems in their devices to patch a serious iMessage security flaw (codenamed FORCEDENTRY) that enabled Pegasus spyware to compromise devices with absolutely no user interaction required.
